A piano concert will be held in Mumbai on Saturday as a fundraiser to support Ekam foundation, which seeks to provide healthcare for underprivileged women and children. Six students, including ninth graders Sunav Nambiar, Nandini Chatterjee, 11th graders Angela Mathew, Avantika Garg, Anahita Dhru and third-year MBBS student Anna Mathew, will perform at the event.

In its charter, Ekam foundation says it is a not-for-profit (NGO) organisation that works towards providing quality healthcare to needy children and mothers in India. The foundation was started on the basic premise that no child should be denied the right to healthcare. Ekam’s vision is to work for the well-being of children and mothers; and thereby contribute to a reduction in infant, childhood, adolescent and maternal mortality rates. According to them, in the last seven years, Ekam has reached out to over 10.8 lakh [1.08 million] children and as many families through its multi pronged initiatives.

The event will commence at NSCI Worli at 4:30pm with a high tea, followed by a welcome address and the piano recital.
