Everyone from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the who's who of Bollywood have taken to Twitter to condole the death of legendary actor Sridevi. Admirers of the late actor have shared their favourite moments from the movies. But a tweet from the official handle of the Indian National Congress (INC) has come under criticism, with social media users claiming that the party was playing politics with Sridevi's death. “We regret to hear about the passing away of Sridevi. An actor par excellence. A legend who will continue to live in our hearts through her stellar body of work. Our deepest condolences to her loved ones. She was awarded the Padma Shri by the UPA Govt in 2013,” the tweet read.
Just now, Congress deleted this tweet over #Sridevi. but damage is already done. They even don't spare Politics on death. This is what you have done to India, Misrule & then Deleted Facts, History... & all your wrong doings. pic.twitter.com/7uSesaUVke

Congress plays politics over legendary actress, Sridevi’s death. Won’t own scams during its times but tries taking credit for the honour of an actress par excellence.
Dear Congress,
Sridevi didn’t get Padma Shri, Padma Shri won Sridevi. pic.twitter.com/I54X2bXGbZ
Woke up feeling shocked

Googled my symptoms
Turns out, it is either because of the news of Sridevi passing away, or this tweet by Congress pic.twitter.com/hPgfpzn5q4
Utterly disgusting tweet by Congress telling Sridevi was given Padma Shri under UPA rule.

However, the tweet was later removed and replaced. “We regret to hear about the passing away of Sridevi. An actor par excellence. A legend who will continue to live in our hearts through her stellar body of work. Our deepest condolences to her loved ones,” read one tweet.
“She received a multitude of awards including the fourth highest civilian award the Padma Shri in 2013 by the Govt of India & 6 Filmfare awards, the first at the age of 14. Sridevi started her career at the age of 4 in ‘Thunaivan’. Her Bollywood debut was in ‘Julie’ at 12,” read another tweet.
