During the recent India-Pakistan military stand-off, the Indian side, using cruise missiles, surface-to-air missiles and other assets, brought down as many as six Pakistan Air Force (PAF) fighter jets, one C-130 transport aircraft, two other aircraft, and over 10 UCAVs.
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terrorist hideouts in territories controlled by Pakistan using long-range weapons such as the Brahmos cruise missile in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. The strikes triggered four days of intense clashes that ended with an understanding on stopping the military actions on May 10.
According to news agency ANI, the analysis of the damage inflicted on the Pakistani Air Force by the Indian Air Force, India also destroyed multiple cruise missiles of Pakistan.
India also brought down one high-value aerial asset, which could either be an electronic counter measures aircraft or airborne warning and control systems (AWACS), using the Sudarshan system.
ANI reports that an airborne early warning and control of Swedish origin, positioned at Pakistan’s Bholari airbase, was also destroyed during the Indian air strikes.
A drone strike over Pakistani Punjab also destroyed a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft C-130 Hercules of the Pakistan Air Force.
A number of Chinese Wing Loong series medium altitude long endurance drones too were destroyed during a strike on a hangar by Rafale and Su-30 jets, according to the report.
