In another testament of synergy between the three services of India—the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force—in the wake of increased push for integrated theatre command, a tri-service Special Forces exercise was successfully conducted by the Indian Air Force at Air Force Station Jodhpur from February 24 to 28.

According to a defence ministry release, the war drills, named 'Exercise Desert Hunt 2025', involved the elite Para (Special Forces) from the Indian Army, the Marine Commandos from the Indian Navy and the Garud (Special Forces) from the Indian Air Force.

The high-intensity drills, held in a simulated combat environment, were aimed at enhancing interoperability, coordination and synergy among the three special forces units of the country to ensure swift and effective response towards emerging security challenges.

Airborne insertion, precision strikes, hostage rescue, counter-terrorism operations, combat free falls and urban warfare scenarios wherein the combat readiness of the forces was tested under realistic conditions were part of the exercise.

Senior military officials supervised the exercise to validate joint doctrines.

According to the ministry, the exercise provided a platform to foster the commitment of the Indian armed forces to strengthen national security through seamless inter-service cooperation.

A few days ago, the Indian Army and Air Force had conducted a two-day integrated training exercise, aimed at enhancing coordination between ground troops and aerial assets.
