Furthermore, it will also drive in electric two-wheelers and electric buses in the country in the second half of the year.
"Our planned capacity is 50,000 per annum. So, we are going to launch new products every six months," Tapan Ghosh, the CEO of VinFast India said in an interaction.
The first of the new products this year is going to be a seven-seater MPV. While the company is tight-lipped on the name, it is mostly expected to be its Limo Green electric model.
"In addition to the MPV, we will also be launching two more products. There is a segment, which is below VF6, which is quite a big volume. We are looking at it very closely. We are also looking at segment which is beyond VF7," said Ghosh.
The VF6 is a 5-seater electric SUV, which is priced at Rs 17.29 lakh and the VF7, a more sportier five-seater eSUV is priced at Rs 21.89 lakh.

VinFast currently has a electric four-wheeler manufacturing capacity spread over a 400 acre land parcel at Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu, which was inaugurated in August 2025. The company has acquired another 500 acres of land adjacent to it where it will make electric two-wheelers and e-buses.

It will be offered to GSM as well as other fleet operators in the country.
Other than the electric taxi company, Vingroup has already announced plans to build a multi-sector ecosystem in the country and to that effect had signed a memorandum of understanding with Telangana government in December 2025 for a proposed phased investment of $3 billion.
Under the MoU, both parties will collaborate to explore strategic opportunities across sectors such as smart urban development, electric mobility solutions, healthcare, education, tourism, renewable energy and charging infrastructure across approximately 2,500 hectares in Telangana.
While VinFast India's EV plans are currently focused on catering to the domestic market, exports are also a possibility at a later stage. According to Ghosh, distributors in neighbouring markets like Nepal and Sri Lanka are already beginning to show interest.
"There is a huge export opportunity from India to neighbouring countries, countries in Asia, Middle East and Africa," he said.
The company will also be looking to increase its localisation in its EVs as it's sales grow. Currently the localisation is at just 10 per cent.
"India's cost of operation can be very competitive, once we localise, " Ghosh noted.
VinFast's EV push in India comes at a time the market is slowly and steadily growing, with more players entering the fray and more products being launched by existing players.
