'Life has come full circle, ' says Ragini Das, co-founder of leap.club and now the newly appointed Head of Google for Startups, India.
Back in 2013, when Google rejected her, little did she know that she would come back to the very firm to lead and support thriving startups around the world.
"In 2013, I sat for two interviews: one at Google and one at Zomato. I didn’t make it through Google’s last round, but I did get into Zomato — and those 6 years changed everything for me. Zomato helped me identify my career moat, gave me lifelong friends, an incredibly steep learning curve and the resilience to eventually take the leap and co-found leap.club," she wrote in her LinkedIn post.
Calling it a defining chapter of her life, Ragini says leap.club gave her an identity that also changed the lives of thousands of women.
After the operations at leap.club paused in June this year, she took a break to relax and came across a role at Google which fit perfectly with her journey.
"The role sat at the intersection of 0–10, founders and everything I've built over the years. It kinda felt like destiny iykwim (if you know what I mean)," she said.
In her present role at Google, she aims to support thriving startups around the world by connecting them to the right people, products and best practices to help them grow.
