Sunjay Kapur will dispute: Delhi High Court orders widow Priya Sachdev to list all of late husband’s assets

The inheritance battle for Sunjay Kapoor’s assets heated up after actor Karisma Kapoor’s children Samaira and Kiaan accused model Priya Sachdev Kapur of allegedly forging their father’s will

Delhi High Court directed widow Priya Sachdev Kapur to file a list of the assets of her late husband Sunjay Kapur

The ongoing inheritance dispute following the death of 53-year-old industrialist Sunjay Kapur reached its crescendo after the Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed his widow Priya Sachdev Kapur to file a list of her late husband’s assets. This came on the heels of the Delhi HC registering a lawsuit filed by Karisma Kapoor’s children.

Days after the death of actor Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband, their daughter Samaira, 20, and son Kiaan, 15, moved the Delhi high court, accusing their stepmother Priya Sachdev Kapur—the third wife of Sunjay Kapur—of forging their father’s will.

Earlier, Sunjay Kapur’s mother, Rani Kapur, questioned the circumstances of his death. However, a postmortem examination determined that he died of natural causes. She also claimed her share in Sona Comstar, part of the group company once led by Sunjay’s late father.

The latest Delhi HC order demands that model Priya Sachdev Kapur file a list of all movable and immovable assets of Sanjay Kapur known to her. Karisma Kapoor’s children alleged that Sachdev appeared to have forged their father’s will for control over his assets—close to Rs 30,000 crore.

The High Court is expected to hear the matter on October 9.

Karisma Kapoor represented the children as their legal guardian as they attached a list of known properties, accusing Sachdev of concealing details. Sanjay Kapur’s children with Karisma Kapoor want at least a fifth of the estate as legal heirs, after they were informed that they were not the beneficiaries under their late father’s will.

However, Sachdev informed the court that Kapur’s trust already gave Karisma’s children Rs 1,900 crore.
