These ten Indian states collected the most GST in Feb 2025

Maharashtra takes top spot in most GST collected in February, but Andaman and Nicobar Islands wins big with growth, according to the latest Good and Services Tax data released by the Government of India

Andaman and Nicobar Islands saw gross domestic GST collections soar a staggering 32 per cent to ₹52 crore, while Northeastern state Tripura recorded a 21 per cent year-on-year jump to hit ₹103 crore.

Haryana collected ₹9,925 crore, up 20 per cent—making it the fifth best earner in the country for the month. Himachal Pradesh, too, saw major gains of 16 per cent, with total monthly GST collection of ₹869 crore.

However, the share of collections under the Centre Jurisdiction saw the most significant growth, with ₹336 crore collected in February 2025—a staggering 45 per cent jump from February 2024.

Total gross domestic GST collected by states, union territories and Centre rose by 10.2 per cent year-on-year to around ₹1.42 lakh crore for the month. Adding imports GST, the total gross GST collected in February amounted to about ₹1.84 lakh crore.

Top 10 GST earning states of Feb 2025

1. Maharashtra: ₹30,637 crore, up 13 per cent

2. Karnataka: ₹14,117 crore, up 10 per cent

3. Gujarat: ₹11,402 crore, up 3 per cent

4. Tamil Nadu: ₹10,694 crore, up 10 per cent

5. Haryana: ₹9,925 crore, up 20 per cent

6. Uttar Pradesh: ₹9,155 crore, up 14 per cent

7. Delhi: ₹6,074 crore, up 10 per cent

8. West Bengal: ₹5,797 crore, up 8 per cent

9. Odisha: ₹5,344 crore, up 4 per cent

10. Telangana: ₹5,280 crore, up 1 per cent

The poorest earners were led by Lakshadweep, which saw a massive 55 per cent drop to just ₹1 crore. Other laggards included Ladakh (₹19 crore, down 46 per cent) and Mizoram (₹42 crore, down 16 per cent). Manipur, too, saw a slide of 9 per cent, collecting ₹50 crore.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands, despite leading in year-on-year growth nationally among states and territories, was the fifth poorest earner in February 2025.
