Zomato customer finds cockroach in Japanese food she ordered; company says sorry

She called the incident 'absolutely unacceptable and disgusting'


A Zomato customer took to X on Wednesday expressing disappointment with the quality control of the online food delivery app Zomato. The woman had found a cockroach in the food that she ordered.

"Just had a horrific experience ordering from @Zomato. Ordered Japanese miso ramen chicken from Auntie Fug's and found a cockroach in my meal!" the customer wrote.

Calling this incident "absolutely unacceptable and disgusting" she said she is "Seriously disappointed with the quality control here."

"@Zomato is beyond gross.#ZomatoNightmare," she wrote, sharing photos of the food in which she found the cockroach.

Zomato was quick to respond and apologised to the customer.

"Hi there, we are sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident. We want to help turn this experience around. Please allow us some time to look into, we'll get back to you ASAP," the customer care department of the restaurant aggregator and food delivery company wrote.
