A former Flipkart employee was arrested for robbing an office of the e-commerce giant in Sonipat of Haryana, brandishing a toy gun.
According to media reports, the disgruntled former employee, identified as Sumit, who was sacked by Flipkart recently, along with two of his accomplices, entered the office on October 16 and committed the robbery.
He used his knowledge of the workings of the office to his advantage to carry out the act. The accused used a toy gun to subdue those who were present at the office and made away with Rs 21 lakh.
According to media reports, the accused was aware of the increased cash flow to the office as this was the festive season.
The police cracked the case in less than a month and arrested two of the accused, while the third is on the run.
Rs 6.3 lakh, a toy pistol, and an ax were recovered from the accused.
