Airtel Digital head Adarsh Nair resigned from Bharti Airtel on Friday, according to a regulatory filing. This comes just weeks after Xstream Play, Airtel Digitals' OTT aggregator app, crossed five million paid subscribers.
Nair who joined the company five years ago as its Chief Product Officer became the Director of Airtel Digital less than four months ago. He was responsible for Airtel ads, Airtel IQ, Wynk Music and Xstream Video.
Why did Adarsh Nair quit?
Nair reportedly put in his papers on Friday so that he can relocate back to the US early next year, according to his resignation letter. His last day at the company will be February 15 next year.
"We wish to inform you that Mr Adarsh Nair, Chief Product Officer of the company has resigned and accordingly, ceases to be a Senior Management Personnel. His resignation has been accepted on November 3, 2023 and will be relieved from his duties upon closure of business hours on February 15," the regulatory filing had stated.
The company did not reveal who will replace Nair when this report was filed.
Who is Adarsh Nair?
Nair who pursued engineering at BITS Pilani graduated in MS from the University of Florida and completed his MBA from The Wharton School. Based in Seattle, he has worked with McKinsey & Company, Microsoft, Marchex and Convoy Inc in the past.
