Parag Desai, the Executive Director of Wagh Bakri Tea Group, died in Ahmedabad on Sunday a week after he was attacked by dogs outside his home.
The 49-year-old suffered a critical head injury in a stray dog attack during a morning walk near Iscon Ambli Road in the city on October 15, reported Ahmedabad Mirror.
Following this he was taken to Shalby Hospitals and the next day he was shifted to Zydus Hospital for a surgery. Parag who was on ventilator died of brain haemorrhage at the hospital on Sunday.
Who was Parag Desai?
Parag, the son of Rasesh Desai, Managing Director of the Wagh Bakri Tea Group, was a fourth-generation member of the business family. He was also an expert tea taster.
The Group, founded by Narandas Desai in 1892, adopted innovative marketing, branding and packaging strategies under Parag. He was honoured by the Ahmedabad Management Association for his achievements, according to Exchange4Media.
An MBA-holder from Long Island University, New York, he is survived by his wife Vidisha and daughter Parisha. With more than 30 years of entrepreneurship experience, he joined Wagh Bakri in 1995.
