The Harry Potter merchandise has been booming ever since November 2001. The franchise’s first film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone set in motion the Pottermania with no end in sight. Fast forward to 2019, one can pop into Sainsbury’s, Lakeland or WH Smith and pick up the Harry Potter egg cup and toast cutter set. Boots introduced wand-shaped make-up brushes and Hedwig lip balms; the stationery shop Typo brought out oversized turquoise Quidditch slippers. Harry potter house crest crafts, letters from Hogwarts, Harry Potter Sun-Staches etc. have people out with their wallets on the table to conjure a little magic in their lives. People can’t seem to get enough and a recent tweet posted by Vans, an American manufacturing company of skateboarding shoes and related apparel, based in Santa Ana, California, has the ever-so-loyal Potterheads on their feet, waiting for the new shoes to be up for grabs.

A tweet posted by Vans on social media on April 22 revealed that the footwear brand is bringing the best of the wizarding world to its fans with a collaboration that is going to make every Potterhead’s mouths water. They dropped it like hot cakes on social media that they had something magical coming soon and Potter fans worldwide are knee deep in awe as the tweet teased the fact that they would launch the collection with a house theme for Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, complete with their mascots.

The collaborative gear this year will have footwear, apparel, and accessories for witches, wizards, and muggles alike marking the first time that the two brands have ever worked together.

All though details are kept under wraps, the brand can be trusted to live up to the hype surrounding the epic launch. There is no official release date set for the Vans x Harry Potter collaboration as yet but they did offer to show a slight teaser with the panels on the tweet offering a distinct colour and a trippy pattern for the upcoming label.

The Harry Potter collection follows Vans’ David Bowie inspired collection that was released earlier this month. The collection that includes footwear that references five milestones in the artist's career, three T-shirts and two hats. In February, the brand launched a capsule collection with Led Zeppelin, marking the 50th anniversary of the brand's self-titled debut album. Now all that's left to uncover is what exactly Vans does with the mystical world of Harry Potter through their signature shoes.
