The Delhi High Court on Wednesday refused to stay the Centre's notification on the disqualification of 20 MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi.
The court, however, restrained the Election Commission from announcing any bypolls to the 20 constituencies till after its next hearing on January 29.
Justice Vibhu Bakhru, who was responding to a plea filed by eight of the MLAs, issued notices to the EC and the Centre over the disqualification of the MLAs on the issue of holding offices of profit.
The High Court summoned the entire records connected with EC proceedings leading to the recommendation of disqualification.
