Obamas invite Priyanka Chopra to White House

After walking the red carpet on Oscars and winning applause for it, actress Priyanka Chopra has now been invited to the White House by the Obamas.

According to reports, Priyanka has received an invitation from US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama to attend the annual White House Correspondents' dinner.

Priyanka is now busy shooting for new season of US TV series Quantico and her debut Hollywood movie, Baywatch, starring opposite Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. The actress , however, is yet to accept the invitation due to her tight schedule with her ongoing projects.

Although, the event is predominantly held for media persons, talented Hollywood actors and US TV stars also end up receiving invitations for the event.

The event will take place on April 30 and will be hosted by Nightly Show host Larry Wilmore. The event is a fund raiser for journalism scholarships. This will also be the last ' dinner hosted by Obama as his second presidential term ends in January 2017.

Obama has presided over the event ever since he assumed the president's office. During his speech, he makes jokes about himself and fellow politicians and members of media.
