Gurugram, Oct 31 (PTI) A group of men in an SUV allegedly created a ruckus in Gurugram's Sector 5 area by sitting on the car roof and intimidating other motorists on the road, police said on Saturday.

Playing loud music, they also behaved inappropriately toward a woman and two children who were in another vehicle. Following the incident on Friday, police have initiated an investigation into the matter, they said.

A local resident, Bittu Kataria, filed a police complaint and also provided CCTV footage. Based on the complaint, the police have initiated an investigation and are working to identify the car owner using the footage, they added.

According to the complainant, the incident occurred on Friday at around 8 pm when the SUV (Creta) arrived in the Sector-5 area, playing loud music, disturbing passersby and shopkeepers in the vicinity.

Some men inside the vehicle opened the sunroof, emerged from it, and began creating a ruckus while sitting on the roof. They also drove the car recklessly, attempting to intimidate other vehicles on the road, they said.

"Some relatives of my younger brother Kultaj arrived at the scene in their car. A woman and two young children were also in the vehicle. The youths in the Creta stopped their car near them and behaved indecently toward the woman and the children. The children were frightened by this sudden turn of events. The youths then sped away from the scene in their car," Kataria added in his complaint.

"An investigation into the matter has been initiated based on a complaint. Efforts are underway to identify the car's owner with the help of CCTV footage. Action will be taken against those who perform stunts on the road, create a nuisance by leaning out of a vehicle's sunroof, or compromise the safety of women," said a senior police officer.
