UP Bullion trader shot at by armed men in bikes loot bag full of ornaments

Kaushambi (UP), Aug 17 (PTI) Four armed men shot at a bullion trader and allegedly looted a bag full of gold and silver ornaments here on Sunday morning, police said.
     The trader was on his way from his home to his shop on a motorcycle at around 10 am when he was attacked near the bridge of Sasur Khaderi river near Koron village.
     The four assailants came on two motorcycles and attempted to snatch Deepak Verma's bag of valuables. When he resisted, they shot him, Circle Officer (CO) of Manjhanpur Shivank Singh said.
     Verma has been admitted to the district hospital. He is a resident of Koron village and has a bullion shop in Manjhanpur town.
     CCTV camera footage installed in the area is being examined, he said, adding that based on Verma's complaint, an FIR will be lodged.
     The weight and price of the ornaments kept in the bag is not yet known. This will be known only after receiving the complaint, he added.
