Bihar 70-year-old woman found dead in house in Patna

    Patna, Jul 19 (PTI) A 70-year-old woman was found dead in her house in Patna's Adarsh Nagar locality on Saturday, police said.
    The deceased has been identified as Shanti.
    “Police recovered her body from a room of her residence and sent it for post-mortem examination. Prima facie, it appears to be a case of murder. The exact cause of the incident is not known yet,” Patna City SP (West) Bhanu Pratap Singh told reporters.
    Preliminary investigation suggests that the killers knew the woman. Details will be known after a thorough probe, he added.
    In another incident, a woman suffered bullet injuries following an exchange of fire between two groups in Bahadurpur area of the city on Friday night.
    “The woman was taken to the nearest government hospital, where her condition is stated to be out of danger. She was sitting near the place where the firing took place. When police arrived at the spot, the gunmen had fled. Investigation is underway,” an official statement said.
