Delhi govt to lay foundation of Dwarka Court Complex by Aug

New Delhi, Jul 10 (PTI) The Delhi government will lay the foundation stone of a new District Court Complex in Dwarka and launch a dedicated policy for Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) as part of an ambitious roadmap to strengthen judicial services and promote the creative economy here.
     Delhi Minister for Art, Culture and Development Kapil Mishra chaired a high-level review meeting at the Delhi Secretariat here.
     Senior officials from several departments, including Tourism, Art, Culture and Languages, Law and Justice, Labour, Employment and Development attended the meeting.
     The objective of the meeting was to review the progress of ongoing and proposed schemes under the minister's portfolio and formulate an action plan for their prompt implementation.
     Mishra also announced that 'Atal Canteens' would be established under the Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, aimed at providing nutritious meals at highly subsidized rates for workers.
     "Our government is working with full commitment for the holistic and balanced development of Delhi. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Viksit Bharat 2047', we are taking concrete and visionary steps in areas such as justice, culture, rural development, labour welfare and innovation," the minister said.
     "All departments have been instructed to ensure that the foundation and inauguration of all key schemes are completed by August 31, 2025, so that the public can directly benefit from these initiatives," he added.
     Among the key schemes reviewed, the foundation of the Dwarka District Court Complex was given top priority to enhance judicial services.
     The other legal sector initiatives include the Revenue Generation Court Project, establishment of a Mediation Cell to promote Alternative Dispute Resolution and development of 2,700 square meters of land near the Rohini District Court Complex.
     In a major push for Delhi's creative industries, the government will soon launch a comprehensive AVGC policy aimed at promoting growth in animation, gaming and visual content sectors.
     A Creative Economic Forum is also planned to bring together creative leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs and innovators.
     In the cultural and heritage segment, the foundation for the reconstructed Guru Tegh Bahadur Memorial will be laid in November 2025, marking the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the Sikh Guru.
     The restoration of the Vasant Udyan archaeological monument in Vasant Vihar has been completed and will be inaugurated soon along with the new amphitheater at Mukarba Chowk, intended to boost cultural events in the city.
     Various rural development projects under the Delhi Rural Development Board were also discussed. A model 'gaushala' (cow shelter) equipped with modern facilities will be established in Ghummanhera village.
     Additionally, a cow sanctuary will be set up and a Cow Welfare Commission/Board will be formed as part of a broader bovine welfare plan.
     "Employment fairs will be organised in a new and more practical format to better align employer requirements with youth expectations," Mishra said.
     A grand painting competition themed on 'Viksit Bharat 2047' will be held in September 2025, featuring participation from 75 national and international artists.
     The minister also revealed plans to launch a 'Talent Hunt Scheme' to identify and support creative youth across the capital.
     These initiatives are part of the Delhi government's broader development agenda, with timelines aligned to ensure swift implementation before the deadline of August 31, 2025.
