Mumbai, Jul 10 (PTI) Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Varun Sardesai on Thursday claimed a security personnel accompanying Maharashtra Legislative Council deputy Chairperson Neelam Gorhe pushed him aside when she was walking towards her office.
Visibly annoyed, Sardesai was seen asking the security personnel, "Are there terrorists here? This has happened again!"
Gorhe told Sardesai that she would talk to the security personnel. "I am asking you politely but you are raising your voice," she said before walking away.
Speaking to reporters later, Sardesai, who is a cousin of Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray, said, "A security personnel of Neelam Gorhe pushed me aside to make way for her. This is not the first time such an incident has occurred. One of her security personnel did it last time on the steps of the legislature complex."
The MLA, however, added he did not think it was intentional. "I do not think he did it purposely, but there is only one passage from the entrance to the Vidhan Bhavan building. If security persons do not know an MLA personally, there is a badge given to each legislator. They should at least recognise it," said the MLA.
"Security persons can provide an aircraft to senior members so that we won't face such humiliation," he added sarcastically.
