Met office predicts increased rainfall in eastern Rajasthan likely to continue for a week

Jaipur, Jul 1 (PTI) Heavy rains lashed parts of Rajasthan, with Bari in Dholpur district recording the highest rainfall at 145 mm in the 24 hours until 8.30 am on Tuesday, a Met department official said.
    He said the rains are likely to increase in many parts of eastern Rajasthan from Tuesday and heavy to very heavy rains are likely at some places in Kota, Ajmer and Udaipur divisions.
    Heavy rains are likely to be recorded at one or two places in Baran, Kota, Bundi, Bhilwara and surrounding districts and light to moderate rains are likely in some parts of Jaipur, Bharatpur, Bikaner divisions, he said.
    The Met official said that a low pressure area formed over eastern India has transformed into a circulation system on Tuesday. The monsoon trough line is passing through Sriganganagar in Rajasthan and Haryana's Rohtak.
    According to the meteorological department, rain activities are likely to continue in most parts of eastern Rajasthan for the next one week, and heavy to very heavy rains are likely to be recorded in some parts in the southeast on Wednesday.
    Rainfall is likely to increase in some parts of Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions from July 2-5, it said.
