Nellore (Andhra Pradesh), June 24 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Congress president Y S Sharmila on Tuesday accused the TDP-led government in the state of imposing a financial burden of Rs 15,000 crore on the people through increased power tariffs in just one year.
The APCC president alleged that the Chandrababu Naidu-led government has not cleared fee reimbursement dues worth Rs 4,700 crore and Aarogyasri dues to the tune of Rs 4,000 crore.
“They (NDA alliance govt) imposed an electric (tariffs) burden of Rs 15,000 crore in one year,” said Sharmila in a press release.
The NDA alliance government of TDP, BJP and Janasena completed a year on June 12.
Calling the NDA alliance government’s Super Six schemes "Super Flop", she labelled the state government a "trouble engine".
Referring to the ‘Super Six’ promises, the Congress leader said farmers are yet to receive Rs 20,000 financial aid (Annadata Sukhibava) and the government "hoodwinked" people through the ‘Talliki Vandanam’ scheme (Rs 15,000 per annum to school-going children) by reducing the beneficiaries from 87 lakh to 67 lakh.
Sharmila charged the three parties -- TDP, Janasena and YSRCP -- with being "stooges" of the BJP and said the saffron party has been "cheating" the southern state for the last 11 years.
She accused the BJP of deceiving Andhra Pradesh on special category status and causing "injustice" by reducing the Polavaram project height.
Despite these alleged injustices, she claimed that no party, including YSRCP, Janasena and TDP, has the courage to speak out against the BJP.
Meanwhile, there was no immediate reaction from the TDP.
