Bhopal, Jun 23 (PTI) The Congress on Monday held a protest seeking installation of a statue of Babasaheb Ambedkar at the Gwalior bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
The opposition to the installation of the statue is a well-planned conspiracy of anti-Constitutional forces that are trying to weaken the fundamental principles of the country, MP Congress chief Jitu Ptwari said in a statement after the party's 'Samvidhav Satyagraha' protests held in Mugalia Chhap village and Sant Hirdaram Nagar here.
"We will fight from every platform to protect the ideas of Babasaheb Ambedkar and the Constitution drafted by him. The controversy raised over the installation of the statue in Gwalior is not only an attack on Babasaheb but on democracy. Congress will not let anti-Constitutional forces succeed at any cost. The movement will be intensified throughout the state," Patwari said.
Former chief minister Digvijay Singh, former minister PC Sharma, City district congress president Praveen Saxena, rural district Congress president Anokhi Patel, among others, took part.
