Four killed two injured as SUV hits road divider in MP’s Rajgarh district

Rajgarh, Jun 19 (PTI) Four persons including an 11-year-old boy were killed and two others injured when their SUV hit the road divider in Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh district on Thursday morning, police said.
The accident took place around 7 am when a family was on its way from Gonda in Uttar Pradesh to Surat in Gujarat, said inspector Ramesh Jat of Karwas police station.
Bholenath Dubey (40), who was driving, told police that he dozed off due to fatigue after driving for almost 18 hours and lost control of the vehicle, the official said.
Dubey himself escaped with minor injuries as he had put on the seat belt and his airbag deployed in time, inspector Jat said.
The family of seven had set off from Gonda around 2 pm on Wednesday and took only short breaks for tea and snacks, he said.
Sub Divisional Officer of Police Arvind Singh said Anmol Dubey (16) and Priyanshu Pandey (11) died on the spot, while Pramila Pandey (55) and Shiv Devi Tiwari (45) succumbed to their injuries at the Shajapur District Hospital.
Pushtam Dubey (50) and Anshika Dubey (14) are undergoing treatment.
Further investigation is on, Singh said.
