Lucknow, May 7 (PTI) The Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaja Party on Wednesday lauded the 'Operation Sindoor' launched by the security forces against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
In retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack, Indian armed forces carried out missile strikes early Wednesday on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), including the Jaish-e-Mohammad stronghold of Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba's base Muridke.
“Parakramo Vijayate (brave become victorious),” posted Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on X, lauding the armed forces' action.
In a post on X, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati said, “Indian Army's 'Operation Sindoor' action of destroying 9 terrorist hideouts in Pakistan is glorious and praiseworthy."
Lauding the Army action, Samajwadi Party MP from Ghazipur, Afzal Ansari, told PTI over phone that the Narendra Modi government should take a lesson from former prime minister Indira Gandhi and immediately order the occupation of PoK.     “The Indian Army displayed its valour and successfully carried out strikes on nine identified terrorist camps in Pakistan. In my view, this is the beginning of destroying Pakistan's evil designs.
“But the people of the country believe that Pakistan won’t stop its evil activities. It is not going to learn a lesson easily. Its activities won’t stop until India annexes the illegally occupied Kashmir by Pakistan,” Ansari said.
“The Modi government should immediately order the Army to occupy the illegally occupied Kashmir by Pakistan. The Modi government should learn from former prime minister Indira Gandhi, who divided Pakistan into two parts and formed Bangladesh,” the Samajwadi Party leader added.
The military strikes were conducted under 'Operation Sindoor' two weeks after the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people, mostly tourists, on April 22.
