New Delhi, Nov 5 (PTI) Schneider Electric Infrastructure on Thursday reported 43 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 29.65 crore for September quarter FY27.

In the year-ago period, the net profit stood at Rs 52.32 crore, an exchange filing said. Total expenses rose to Rs 743.56 crore from Rs 584.61 crore.

Total income also increased to Rs 784.08 crore from Rs 654.58 crore.

According to a statement, the company recorded its highest-ever quarterly order intake of Rs 1,265 crore in Q2FY27, ahead of the previous high of Rs 915 crore in Q1FY27.

Demand remained strong across the established segments and the emerging ones, such as data centres and semiconductors.

For H1FY27, order intake was Rs 2,180 crore, up 24.7 per cent year-on-year.

The order backlog stood at Rs 2,701 crore as of September 30, 2026, up 49.6 per cent year-on-year, which gives the company healthy sales visibility.

"Demand from data centres, semiconductors and grid infrastructure continues to be strong as India advances its electrification and industrial modernisation journey. While profitability remains below last year, our priority is to convert the strong order book into sales, and to improve project margins, through disciplined execution, cost pass-through and portfolio enrichment," Deepak Sharma, Zone President- Greater India, Schneider Electric, and Board Director, Schneider Electric Infrastructure, said.

Udai Singh, MD & CEO, Schneider Electric Infrastructure Limited, said the company's focus now is on timely delivery, operational excellence and improving the margin quality of the order book.

"We are also investing for the future. The Board has approved a capacity expansion at our Kolkata facility, and we have been recognised for our work on sustainability and governance. With a healthy pipeline and a strong backlog, we are well positioned to create long-term value for our customers and shareholders," he added.

To support growing demand, the Board of Directors, at its meeting on 29 October 2026, approved a further capacity expansion at the Company's Kolkata Medium Voltage Components (KMVC) facility.

The company plans to invest Rs 211 crores to increase Vacuum Interrupter capacity from 250,000 to 375,000 units per annum and to add Breaker capacity of 18,000 units per annum, by the end of FY 2028-29.

The investment will be funded through internal accruals and/or external borrowings. It supports the Company's capacity augmentation requirements, export growth plans and technology upgradation initiatives.
