Palestine takes over Gaza administration from Hamas

The Palestinian national unity government has taken over the administration of the Gaza Strip from Hamas. The Hamas movement said that it has done everything to hand over the administration work. All government bodies will start working in response to Gaza's requirements including water, electricity and the reconstruction work.

Nawaz Sharif re-elected PML-N president

Pakistan's ruling PML-N re-elected ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as its chief months after the country's top court disqualified him from holding any public office. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's central working committee approved an amendment to the party's constitution, paving Sharif's way to lead the party.

US to expel majority of Cuban embassy staff

President Donald Trump's administration might expel a majority of Cuban embassy staff from the US, after American diplomats in Havana were targeted in a mysterious attack that resulted in sudden brain injuries. However, the US has not outright accused Cuba of the attacks and Havana has denied any involvement in the injures.

Kim's half-brother murder: Women plead not guilty

Two female agents accused in the murder of Jong-un's estranged older sibling Kim Jong-nam on February 13, pleaded not guilty. The women, who had been working as escorts, said they were duped by North Korean agents into believing they were participating in a hidden-camera reality show.

Pak Foreign Minister embarks on 3-day US visit

Pakistan Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif left for a three-day tour of the US, where he is expected to meet US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. In meetings with US officials, he would clear Pakistan's position. Asif will also be addressing a gathering at the US Institute of Peace in Washington on US-Pakistan relations on October 5.

Muslim advocates file suits over travel ban

A coalition of Muslim and Iranian- American advocates and a nonpartisan legal institute filed the first lawsuits against the Trump administration's new travel restrictions for citizens of eight countries in the federal courts in New York and Maryland.

Catalans go on strike over referendum violent crackdown

Catalans took to streets of Barcelona to condemn the violent crackdown by Spanish security forces during the weekend referendum on independence, in which 893 people were injured. The Catalan Government said it earned the right to split from Spain and called for international mediation to resolve the crisis.
