Peruvian OnlyFans model Raiza Joselin Martínez Copa, a.k.a. 'La Chocolatita', was found dead in an apartment with her mouth covered with adhesive tape.
Mystery surrounding the passing of the social media influencer in a private apartment has made it a talking point, as the man arrested by the police at the crime scene was reportedly having breakfast alongside her body when they arrived. The suspect was identified as 36-year-old Oscar Raúl Arias Muñoz.
34-year-old Copa used the handle name La Chocolatita on TikTok as well and was popular among Peruvian youth. She gained public attention after being romantically linked to footballer Pedro Aquino, who plays for the national team as well as Mexican club Santos Laguna. The probe has so far found nothing linking Aquino to the unfortunate night, reports clarified.
How did 'La Chocolatita' die?
According to preliminary investigations, the influencer died from mechanical asphyxiation by strangulation.
The model was reportedly found dead around 7:00 pm inside a house located in the La Planicie area of the La Molina district in Lima. Alcohol bottles, beer cans, and "other substances" were found in the apartment by the first responders, media reports said. The Peruvian National Police (PNP) are treating the case as a homicide, which is believed to have taken place after a party that may have lasted several hours.
Initial reports refer to alleged physical assaults, an aspect that will have to be confirmed through the autopsy and forensic medical examinations, Spanish media reports said.
A relative of the accused has told Peruvian media that he knew La Chocolatita for several months.
