US President Donald Trump threatened to sue comedian Trevor Noah over jokes he made tying him to convicted sex offender and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein on Monday.

The South African Comedian who hosted the Grammys had quipped after Billie Eilish won Song of the Year, saying, “That is a Grammy that every artist wants almost as much as Trump wants Greenland, which makes sense because Epstein’s island is gone, he needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton.”

When the audience gasped, he said, “oh I told you it’s my last year! What are you going to do about it?” This is the sixth and last time Noah is hosting the Grammys.

The comments triggered a rant from the president, who took to Truth Social to say, “The Grammy Awards are the WORST, virtually unwatchable.”

Trump then called out Noah's joke, saying, “Noah said, INCORRECTLY, about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. WRONG!!!”

“I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media.”

He also warned Noah, saying, “Better get his facts straight, and get them straight fast,” and added: “It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C.”

The president said that he would sue him for “plenty of money” and said, “Get ready, Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!”

The Epstein joke was not the only one Noah made during the Sunday night award ceremony.

The former Daily Show host had also mocked the president’s new found friendship with rapper Nicki Minaj. “Nicki Minaj is not here. She is not here,” Noah said. “She is still at the White House with Donald Trump discussing very important issues,” he said, drawing laughter from the crowd.

He then began an impression of the two having a conversation. “Actually, Nicki, I have the biggest a--. I have it. Everybody’s saying it, Nicki, I know they say it’s you, but it’s me,” Noah said, imitating Trump’s recognisable accent. “Wap, wap, wap, look at it, baby.”

Republican Sen. Mike Lee also joined in to critisise Noah with a post on X saying, “Pro tip: Don’t belittle Barbz and MAGA at the same time.” Nicki Minaj was recently seen with with Trump at the Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, DC and called herself his “No. 1 fan" adding “that's not going to change”.
