The second fatal ICE shooting has sparked fierce protests nationwide, with local leaders condemning the incident. Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old Minneapolis man who was shot dead by a Border Patrol agent, was a US citizen and a nurse. The incident took place during an ICE raid, when the protesters were on the streets protesting against the federal agency's raid in Minneapolis. The Department of Homeland Security said that the officer fired shots in self-defence. But the bystander videos from the scene contradict the DHS's version.

He was filming with his phone. A woman got shoved into him. Then they pepper sprayed him.

A DHS official said that a man approached the Border Patrol agent with a handgun and violently resisted being disarmed. However, the video reveals Pretti, holding a phone in his hand, not a gun, as he tries to help other protesters who have been pushed to the ground by the agents.
According to officials, Pretti is a licensed gun owner.
The video shows Pretti filming as a federal agent pushes away one woman and pushes another person to the ground. Pretti moves between the agent and the women, then raises his left arm to shield himself and turns away as the agent pepper-sprays him.
As Pretti turns and tries to aid the woman, who has fallen, the agent continues to spray him.
As Pretti lifts up the woman, the agent pulls him off her, and Pretti is forced onto his hands and knees by several agents. One of them pulls an item from Pretti's waistband, then quickly moves away from the scene. Moments later, an officer with a handgun pointed at Pretti's back fires four shots at him in quick succession.
The shooting of Pretti, an intensive care nurse, drew hundreds of protesters to the neighbourhood to confront the armed and masked agents, who deployed tear gas and flashbang grenades. Demonstrations also broke out in New York, Washington D.C. and San Francisco, among other cities.
This is the second fatal shooting by the federal agents after the death of 37-year-old Minnesota woman, Renee Nicole Good.
