A day after FX dropped a special tie-in episode titled "Gary", the streamer Hulu, the primary platform for the show (JioHotstar streams in India), announced that the fifth season of "The Bear" will also be the final. It is slated for premiere on June 25, 2026. All eight episodes will be released at once. JioHotstar's release window would be around the same time, likely a day later.

As for the plot, Season 5 will pick up from the emotional cliffhanger and will deal with the aftermath of Carmy’s (Jeremy Allen White) decision to step away from the food industry, leaving Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and Natalie (Abby Elliott) to run the restaurant as new partners. Their challenges include overwhelming financial struggles, a possible sale of the business, and a torrential storm that threatens to interfere with operations.

Now the ultimate goal remains — one last service with the hope of finally securing a prestigious Michelin star. The fifth season is expected to lean more into the interpersonal dynamics and teamwork within the workspace.

Most of the central cast members are confirmed to return for the series finale. Aside from returning leads, Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Matty Matheson are also set to return.

Expected guest appearances include Oliver Platt, Jamie Lee Curtis, Will Poulter, and Jon Bernthal. Bernthal was part of the special bonus episode "Gary", reprising his role as Mikey, alongside Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

"The Bear" has established itself as one of the most celebrated comedy-dramas in television history, accumulating over 116 wins and 210 nominations.

The series is particularly noted for breaking several industry records, including the most Emmy wins for a comedy series (some still debate whether it really can be called a 'comedy') in a single season. The core cast and the guest stars have been consistently recognised across multiple awards ceremonies, including the Golden Globes and Emmys.
