Afghanistan's Taliban government has accused Pakistan of killing 10 people, 9 of them children and one woman, in an air strike on Tuesday. The strike was reported just a day after a suicide attack on a security compound in Pakistan's Peshawar city.

According to a spokesperson for the Taliban government, Zabihullah Mujahid, “The Pakistani invading forces bombed the house of a local civilian resident ... As a result, nine children (five boys and four girls) and one woman were martyred.” the attacks took place at midnight in the Gurboz district of Khost province.

Air strikes also targeted the border regions of Kunar and Paktika, wounding four other civilians.

On Monday, a suicide attack targeted the headquarters of Pakistan's Federal Constabulary force in Peshawar, killing three officers and wounding 11 others.

State media reported that the attackers were Afghan nationals.

Pakistan’s president, Asif Zardari, had blamed the “foreign-backed Fitna al-Khawarij” the country's term for the Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) militants, of orchestrating the attack. The Country says the group operates from Afghanistan.

Pakistan has not yet made a comment on the air strikes.

Earlier this month, another suicide attack in Islamabad killed 12 people. The attack was claimed by a faction of the TTP.

The relations between the two countries have been tense since the Taliban came to power. The tensions worsened after the deadly border clashes in October, which killed 70 people on both sides.

The countries had ended the fighting with a ceasefire; however, the deal fell apart after Pakistan demanded Kabul tighten its security by reigning in the TTP fighters. Kabul had denied charges of harbouring TTP militants.
