At least 12 people have been confirmed dead, and many were injured after a suicide bombing outside a court in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad. Many of the injured were petitioners and lawyers.
Police officials say that the blast was from a vehicle parked outside the court, the Dawn reported. The incident occurred just a day after the Red Fort Car blast in the Delhi in India, which killed 13.

The sound from the blast was heard as far as six kilometres from the blast site. The cause of the explosion has not yet been confirmed.
Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi who spoke to the media said that 12 people were killed and 27 others were injured.
Reports say that the attacker attempted to enter the courthouse. However, after failing to enter, went near a police vehicle to detonate the explosives. Some reports also say that the attacker was on a motorbike. Sources who spoke to local media say that the severed body parts of the suicide bomber were found at the site.
Following the blast, the people in the court were evacuated.
Islamabad deputy inspector general (DIG), the chief commissioner, and a forensic team are investigating the case. The victims have been admitted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital.
