A British Sikh woman, in her 20s, was raped in broad daylight at Tame Road, Oldbury, in the Sandwell area of the West Midlands region, sparking anger and fear in the community.
The incident, which allegedly took place on Tuesday morning, is being investigated as a case of “racially aggravated assault”, the West Midlands Police said in a statement.
“The woman has told us that a racist remark was made to her during the attack. We are currently treating it as an isolated incident,” they said.

A manhunt has been launched to nab the two white male suspects. One of them is believed to have a shaved head, a heavy build and was reported to be wearing a dark coloured sweatshirt and had gloves on. The second man was reportedly wearing a grey top with a silver zip.
“We fully understand the anger and worry that this has caused, and I am speaking to people in the community today to reassure them that we are doing everything we can to identify and arrest those responsible," said Chief Superintendent Kim Madill of Sandwell Police.
"Incidents like this are incredibly rare, but people can expect to see extra patrols in the area,” she added.

During the attack they said, “you don't belong in this country, get out.”
Why is this not on the front page of every major news outlet?
Why are politicians not publicly condemning this?

The Sikh Federation (UK) alleged that the perpetrators had made racist remarks against the woman during the attack.
"You don't belong in this country, get out,” the woman was allegedly told by her rapists, according to a Sikh Federation leader. He also alleged that the incident took place in broad daylight on a busy road.
"The current racist political environment is driven by populism and created by politicians playing the anti-immigration card who are unashamedly exploiting those with right-wing and racist views,” Dabinderjit Singh, a Sikh leader, was quoted as saying by the BBC.
Groups such as Sikh Youth UK said they are supporting the victim and her family after the brutal attack.
