There seems to be a ray of hope in the road ahead for India-Bangladesh ties. The neighbouring country is not keen to ruffle its feathers with New Delhi on national security concerns at a time when the terror attack in Pahalgam has strained India's ties with Pakistan.
While no reason is being attributed to the proposed visit of Pakistan foreign minister Ishaq Dar being cancelled for now, sources said that owing to unforeseen circumstances, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan is unable to undertake the visit to Bangladesh on April 27-28.

“The new dates for the visit will be finalised through mutual consultations,” sources said. It is learnt that the decision has been taken in consultation with the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka .
The Interim government of Muhammad Yunus is keen to stabilise its relations with India and is mindful of the security concerns being raised by New Delhi after several lives have been lost in Kashmir to the horrific terror attack. Regional security and stability being paramount, efforts are afoot to maintain peace, sources said.
India has taken a strong diplomatic stance and is headed to a strategic standoff to counter the continued cross-border terror sponsorship by Pakistan’s state and non-state actors. Officials say it is for the peace in the region that nations have to take a responsible stand against terror networks that plague not just India but the neighbourhood as well.
