Though her sartorial choices and style have won millions across the globe, Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, does not want the world to be talking about her fashion choices any more. Much to the dismay of many, Kensington Palace will no longer be releasing the details of the outfits worn by the Princess of Wales to public engagements, according to reports.
The 43-year-old future queen wants the focus to be on "substance" and not her style, London-based The Sunday Times quoted a palace source.
The Palace did not release the details of the Princess's outfits on her previous two engagements in South Wales. The move comes as Kate Middleton returns to the public after months following her remission from cancer.
"There is an absolute feeling that it [the public work] is not about what the princess is wearing," the source said, adding that the Princess is aware of the appreciation from some of the public about what she is wearing. "But do we need to be officially always saying what she is wearing? No. The style is there but it's about the substance," the palace sources told The Sunday Times.

Reports also quoted a close friend of the princess, who said Kate "found it enormously difficult" that the centre of focus was her clothes and not her work. "[She] was going out and doing the work she was interested in and was hugely important to her, and people just talked about what she was wearing," a close confidant of the Princess was quoted by Express.
Ever since her marriage to Prince William in 2011, Kensington Palace has regularly shared details of her outfits worn by the Princess to public engagements to select members of the press. This has been a royal tradition for long, and the Buckingham Palace would also provide details of the styles that the late Queen wore on public engagements.

However, many believe that Kensington Palace could occasionally reveal the details of outfits or jewellery worn by the Princess for significant occasions, like important family and state events.
Kate's outfits often send the fashion world into a tizzy, with sales picking up due to the "Kate effect". Over the last decade, the Princess has supported British designers, including Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen and Jenny Packham.
In 2016, when she visited India, Kate Middleton wore Indian designer Naeem Khan for her visit to the Taj Mahal, where she and Prince William recreated Princess Diana's iconic photo. The Princess was also spotted in a Anita Dongre dress.
