Russia on Monday denied reports of the US president-elect Donald Trump holding a telephone conversation with President Vladimir Putin. The Kremlin said that Putin had no concrete plans yet to speak to Trump.

The Washington Post report stated that Trump has called Putin and urged him not to escalate the Ukraine war.

"There was no conversation...This is completely untrue. This is pure fiction, it's just false information," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"This is the most obvious example of the quality of the information that is being published now, sometimes even in fairly reputable publications," he added.

During the election campaigning, Trump said that he could bring peace to Ukraine within 24 hours if elected. A master plan for ending the war was also suggested by Trump.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin said that it sensed European powers were nervous about Trump's election, but that they were still "pumping weapons into Ukraine” in order to continue this war to the end.

As per Trump's massive peace plan, ending the Russia-Ukraine war might see him calling on European and British soldiers to put in place an 800-mile buffer zone between Moscow and Kyiv's troops. His staffers noted that this would freeze the front line of the war at present.

Also, the plan would require Kyiv to set aside its NATO ambition for 20 years. The US will also load up Ukraine’s armoury to help the country dissuade Russia from reigniting the war.

After Trump's election win, both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Trump.

Putin on Thursday extended congratulatory greetings to the Republican and said that he was "ready" to hold discussions with him.

"He turned out to be a courageous person. People show who they are in extraordinary circumstances. This is where a person reveals himself," Putin said referring to Trump's Pennsylvania assassination bid.
