In a horrific incident in Russia, a one-month-old infant lost his life after his father experimented on him by feeding him sunlight instead of breast milk. According to reports, the father, a social media influencer, believed that the infant could attain superhuman strength by following what he called a "vegan prana diet." So, he prohibited his girlfriend from breastfeeding the child, who was named Kosmos, so that the child could absorb nutrition from the sun.

The shocking reports said that when the baby fell sick, the accused identified as Maxim Lyutyi, denied any medication. Not even traditional medicine was given to Kosmos but was instead dipped in cold water "to toughen him up." As his condition worsened, the child was rushed to a medical facility but died on the way due to pneumonia and emaciation.

When the matter reached court, Maxim Lyutyi was sentenced to eight years in prison for the charge of intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm while his partner got two years of correctional labour.

The media reports said that Kosmos was exposed to sunlight so his influencer father could use him as a case to prove that people can get nutrition from sunlight. He wanted to feed the child purely with the sun in order to advertise it to others. The "vegan prana diet" that he wanted the baby to have also included munching berries, which could increase the body's spiritual health.

Maxim Lyutyi confessed to killing his son during his final court appearance earlier this week, media reports said. However, he maintained that harming his son was never his intention. "I fully acknowledge my wrongdoing in allowing negligence to lead to the death of my cherished firstborn due to my inaction and irresponsibility. I am also culpable for failing to fulfil my parental duties adequately, and I deeply regret this," he was quoted as telling the Russian court.
