The Israeli military alleged that Hamas is turning hospitals in Gaza into hideouts for the terrorists and commanders.

According to media reports, an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson said Hamas has several underground complexes in Gaza Strip's largest hospital, al-Shifa hospital, and added that these are being used to direct attacks against Israel.

IDF spokesperson Rear Adm Daniel Hagari claimed that the hospital is being used to hide command posts and entry points into the network of underground tunnels. "There is fuel in hospitals and Hamas is using it for its terror infrastructure," The Guardian quoted him as saying.

Hamas denied the charge and said, "There is no basis in truth in what the spokesman of the enemy army stated."

Gaza communication networks down

Meanwhile, media reports suggest that communication networks are down in the Strip amid heavy Israeli bombardment.

Hamas claimed that Israel “cut communications and most of the internet.”

Reuters quoted Netblocks internet observatory as saying: ""Live network data show a collapse in connectivity in the Gaza Strip (...) amid reports of heavy bombardment."
