In a harrowing incident, a woman from South Korea was sexually assaulted by an Indian man when she was posting on Twitch a social media account. The blogger was broadcasting her day trip to Hong Kong when the incident occurred.

It sparked massive outrage on social media and raised concern about the safety of content influencers. The man followed her to a stairwell of a subway. He approached her, asking her for help with the public transport system. He then grabbed her hand and said, “Listen, come with me. I’m alone.”

The man then pinned to the wall and sexually assaulted her, as Twitch users watched in horror. A commuter who was passing by raised an alarm, causing the attacker to flee the scene. He has been identified as Amit, an Indian, who, according to his Facebook profile works at Rajasthan Rifles, an Indian restaurant in Hong Kong. He reportedly grabbed the woman's chest and forcibly kissed her. About 500 people watched the stream.

The restaurant, however, said that he is "not a part of the Rajasthan Rifles team or the Black Sheep community and has not been for one year." "We are aware of the situation concerning the assault in the Central MTR station....We deplore and do not tolerate this type of behaviour," the added.

According to an SCMP report, the man was picked up on Belcher’s Street in Kennedy Town on Tuesday and has been detained on suspicion of indecent assault and outraging public decency. The influencer who spoke English, Mandarin and Korean during the live broadcast, talked about the bruises she sustained due to the assault.
