Martha Stewart becomes oldest Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover model

At 81, Martha Stewart has become the oldest person to be featured in the swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. The chef, cookbook author and media personality surpassed Maye Musk who posed for the special issue in 2022 at 74. 

Stewart wrote on her Instagram page she hopes  the cover inspires people “to try new things, no matter what stage of life you’re in.” She also posted a video clip from an interview on her podcast with MJ Day, SI Swimsuit editor-in-chief. The video shows a series of shots from Stewart's photoshoot in the Dominican Republic. 

Stewart founded Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia in the 1990s. She became a name to reckon with in cooking, entertaining and homemaking. She released cookbooks, cookware, magazines, towels and other items. She’s hosted numerous TV shows and in recent years has had several ventures with rapper Snoop Dogg, AP reported. 

Stewart was photographed by Ruven Afanador for the cover. “When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought: ‘Oh, well that’s pretty good.’ I’m gonna be the oldest person, I think, ever on the cover of Sports Illustrated,’” Stewart told the Guardian. 

The other personalities chosen for the cover were actor Megan Fox, model Brooks Nader and musician Kim Petras.
