A novice bull rider died from his injuries after falling from a bull at a rodeo event in New Queensland on New Year's Eve. The 25-year-old from New South Wales was thrown from the animal and then struck by it during the novice bull ride event at the New Year’s Eve Rodeo at Warwick Showgrounds, the Guardian reported.“He was riding the bull, came off and the bull landed on him,” Melanie Jai, a witness wrote in a Facebook post.

Paramedics tended to him at the scene but he died at the hospital. “The management committee of the Warwick Show and Rodeo Society Inc extends their deepest condolences to the family and friends of the competitor,” the Warwick Show and Rodeo Society Inc wrote on Facebook.

“Please understand this is a very difficult time for the family, the Society, the National Rodeo Association, and his fellow competitors, so we request that the privacy of his family is upheld at this difficult time,” they wrote. They also said they were raising funds to assist the family of the competitor with funeral arrangements, and where possible, any long-term care for the family.
