Former President Donald Trump, on Tuesday, announced his bid for the White House. He stated that he will seek the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. Trump's daughter Ivanka, however, was not present at the announcement. Trump's wife Melania, his son Eric and Ivanka's husband Jared Kushner were present at the announcement. The announcement was made out of Trump's Mar-a-Lago, Florida waterfront estate.

“I do not plan to be involved in politics. While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena," Ivanka wrote in an Instagram post. Ivanka served as an adviser to the president when Trump was president from 2016-2020. Ivanka wrote, “I love my father very much. This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics.”

Ivanka's husband, a businessman and investor served as senior advisor to the president from 2016-2020. After Trump exited the White House, she and her husband moved to a private mansion in Florida. She recently testified before the January 6 committee, the special congressional panel investigating the insurrection at the US Capitol in 2021. Supporters of Trump, marched towards Capitol Hill, attempting to overturn his 2020 election defeat.

Former vice president Mike Pence on Tuesday levelled criticisms against his former boss Trump and called him reckless. In a recent interview, Pence also hinted at his own potential run for the 2024 elections.
