Ukraine destroys 198 Russian tanks, 29 helicopters; kills 5,710 soldiers

Invaders also lost 60 fuel tanks, three UAVs and two boats

Ukraine has claimed that 5,710 Russian soldiers have been killed and 200 have been taken as prisoners, ever since the invasion began.

General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in a Facebook post on Tuesday, said the Ukrainian army destroyed or damaged 29 helicopters, 28 aircraft.

The army also destroyed 198 Russian tanks, 846 armored fighting vehicles, 305 other vehicles and 77 artillery systems.

The invaders also lost 60 fuel tanks, three operational-tactical UAVs and two boats, according to the Facebook post.

"Data are being updated. The calculation is complicated by the high intensity of hostilities," the post read.

Russian shelling continued to hit civilian targets in Ukraine's second-largest city, Kharkiv, on Tuesday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had said Russian missile hit a central square in the city of Kharkiv, and called it an act of undisguised terror.
