The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistani military's media wing, said militants launched separate attacks on two camps of security forces in Balochistan late on Wednesday.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), which is opposed to Pakistani rule in Balochistan, claimed responsibility for the attacks, Dawn reported.
The ISPR said four militants and one soldier were killed in the attacks on the camps in Panjgur and Noshki, which were repulsed by security forces.
An ISPR statement said the militants attempted to enter the Panjgur camp from two sides, but were foiled by security forces. One soldier was killed in the incident.
A camp of the Frontier Corps was attacked in Noshki, Dawn reported. Four militants were killed in the Noskhi attack. Dawn reported intermittent firing was continuing early on Thursday.

There have been multiple attacks in Balochistan in recent weeks. On the night of January 25, 10 soldiers were killed in an attack on a checkpost in Kech district. The ISPR claimed one militant was killed and several injured in the Kech attack.
On January 30, 17 people, including two policemen, were injured in a grenade attack in Jaffarabad district.
