Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and his wife Zubeena Zareen, also known as Mehjabeen Shaikh, have tested positive for COVID-19, CNN News 18 reported quoting a top government source.

The couple has reportedly been admitted to an army hospital in Karachi while Dawood’s personal staff and security guards have been quarantined. CNN News18 further said that the chief of Pakistan intelligence agency ISI has been informed that Dawood and his wife are under quarantine and are at an army hospital.

The mastermind behind Mumbai 1993 blasts is one of the most wanted terrorists in India. Hailing from Dongri in Mumbai, Dawood was rumoured to have been living in Pakistan although the government has denied any knowledge about his whereabouts in the country.

The gangster was designated as a global terrorist by India and the United States in 2003.

Pakistan has reported over 89,000 COVID-19 confirmed cases, with over 1,800 deaths.

More details are awaited.
