As Indian and Chinese troops remain in a standoff in several disputed areas on the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh, Pakistan on Wednesday voiced support for Beijing on the issue.

While Pakistan has been an ally of China for decades, Islamabad had been muted on the India-China standoff in Ladakh until Wednesday.

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi was quoted by Radio Pakistan as telling mediapersons "India's aggressive policy towards its neighbours is putting at stake the regional peace and security."

Radio Pakistan reported, "The foreign minister expressed concerns over the construction of air strips and other infrastructure in the disputed territory of Ladakh." Pakistan's Express Tribune quoted Qureshi as saying, “China has always shown tolerance and talked about peace. China is still saying that the issue can be resolved with dialogue but India continues building in the disputed region causing a serious threat to regional peace.”

Qureshi also accused India of using the land of Afghanistan against Pakistan. "Sometimes India has problems with Nepal, at other times, it [New Delhi] tries to disrupt the Afghan peace process. India tries to promote unrest in Balochistan and now it has done the same in Ladakh and is trying to blame China for it," Qureshi was quoted as saying by Dawn.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan continued his now-familiar method of using 'Nazi' terminology to target India. In tweets on Wednesday, Imran alleged the Narendra Modi government was following the Nazi Lebensraum (Living Space) policy of expanding its territory and was even threatening Nepal and China.

Imran tweeted, "The Hindutva Supremacist Modi Govt with its arrogant expansionist policies, akin to Nazi's Lebensraum (Living Space), is becoming a threat to India's neighbours. Bangladesh through Citizenship Act, border disputes with Nepal & China, & Pak threatened with false flag operation."

Imran also accused India of committing a 'war crime' by annexing Jammu and Kashmir and relegating India's minorities to second-class status. Imran tweeted, "All this after illegal annexation of IOJK, a war crime under 4th Geneva Convention, & laying claim to AJK. I have always maintained the fascist Modi Govt is not only a threat to India's minorities by relegating them to 2nd class citizens' status, but also threat to regional peace".
