Being confined to your home for an indefinite period, while there is a virus with apparently no cure wreaking havoc on the outside, can be quite daunting. As Italians have been subjected to this miserable ordeal, they have found some respite from the unlikeliest of sources―PornHub. One of the world’s most visited porn sites, PornHub has issued a statement saying they were giving their premium content free to all those who are under mandatory quarantine in Italy.
“Forza Italia, We love you! PornHub has decided to donate its percentage revenue from ModelHub platform from March to help Italy during the outbreak,” a press release read.
The free subscriptions will be available to people until April 3 if they sign up for the premium content on PornHub. Apart from free porn, the site will also be donating money from their ModelHub platform, where erotic creators sell their content, to Italy’s coronavirus containment efforts.
Italy is the second most affected country after China with 1,016 deaths reported so far. It also has the highest cases per population density (250 per million population). Coronavirus infections had reached alarming rates in the country with more than 15,000 people having tested positive, prompting premier Giuseppe Conte to place the entire country under lockdown to contain the virus spread. Italy is also a battling a serious shortage of medical personnel even as the number of cases of people attending patients also catching the virus is on the rise.
