Will he or won't he? The suspense continues on whether Kulbhushan Jadhav will have visitors or not on Friday. Like an India-Pakistan cricket match, nothing will be certain till the last ball. The meeting is reportedly scheduled for Friday afternoon, but there is still no clarity about whether Indian officials will take up the offer.

According to sources, Pakistan had been asked on Thursday to provide “unimpeded consular access'' to Jadhav in an “environment free from fear of intimidation and reprisal”, in the light of the orders of the International Court of Justice. “Their response is now awaited,” sources said.

The consular visit granted by Pakistan on Thursday, does seem to come with a caveat. With India being cautious to accept the offer, it suggests that Pakistan has insisted on the visit not to be private. India, would be hoping to get a chance to talk to Jadhav freely.

With hours to go before the time of the visit, it remains to be seen who will blink first. In another case, Pakistan has claimed to have arrested another Indian “spy”. The man, who is claimed to have been identified as Raju Lakshman, is believed to have admitted that he is a “spy''.
