Arsenal are reportedly ready to let Ethan Nwaneri leave this summer and a number of clubs have already started circling the young talent. For the unversed, Ethan Nwaneri is the youngest Premier League player in history, making his debut at 15 years and 181 days old.
Academy graduate Nwaneri is an attacking midfielder, who can also operate as a winger. However, there is no dearth of talent in Mikel Arteta's squad, forcing him onto the fringes. He decided to join Marseille on a loan deal for the second half of the season and it won him further admirers, European sports outlets claimed.
Serie A side Como once tracked Nwaneri in the hope of roping him in as the replacement for Nico Paz. They were reportedly open to a loan move with a buy option for the 19-year-old, or a permanent transfer. He is on a contract until 2030 and Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be around €35 million.
Argentine international Paz was said to be heading back to Real Madrid despite his dream run under Cesc Fàbregas. Paz ultimately ended up staying in Serie A but Como are reportedly still interested in signing Nwaneri. His versatility means he can be used in other areas — meaning the two youngsters can pull the strings together on the pitch next season.
When Rúben Amorim was at Manchester United's helm, there were reports of him wanting to get Nwaneri. Amorim is currently with AC Milan and the side may decide to join Como in the race for his signature, a report said.
German side Borussia Dortmund is another team that is said to be a fan of Nwaneri. They just lost attacker Karim Adeyemi to Barcelona and may decide to go all out for the Arsenal star in the hunt for a worthy replacement. Dortmund are reportedly confident that the youngster can become an incredible attacker in their ranks.
Arsenal's Premier League rivals Everton, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Coventry, and Ipswich are also in the race, TeamTalk said in a report. "Dortmund are said to be aware of the situation, which could see Nwaneri given few minutes next season, and are tracking him in case the decision is made for the Gunners to cash in on him this summer," it said.
